Story book parade

Well today was such a fun day! Issy's school had a story book parade. This is an event where the kids must choose a character from one of their books and dress up like the character. The kids are not allowed to celebrate Halloween or dress up so this is a fun time to get to do something that always them to use their imaginations and become whoever they desire. Israel choose to be a pirate from the book " A pirates tale" He was just absolutely adorable. We were also treated to 4 short skits performed by the teachers. It was a great time and I love making memories!!!

I tell you the boys just amaze me each and everyday. They learn new things and sometimes I feel like they are just growing up way to fast. Israel has become so independent . He's so outgoing, daring, enthusiastic and extremely smart. He can do whatever he wants if he really puts his mind to it. Nolan makes me want to cry. Not only does he not look like the little peanut I brought home 5 months ago but he grows almost everyday. Now he has mastered the art of sitting up!!! A sad but happy time. So Israel received rockband as a gift and oh my gosh it is totally fun!!! You have one person who plays guitar, another who plays drums and then someone who sings!!! Its so so fun. Heres a video of my boys enjoying it.

Here are some videos of Nolan. One is where Edgar was tickling the baby and he suddenly didn't like it!! The other is of the bouncer that Grandma and Grandpa got Nolan for Christmas. HE LOVES IT!!! He literally bounces so hard he scares me. I'm pretty sure he's going to leave his head imprint on my ceiling!! Israels videos coming soon...

So we had a very jolly weekend! On Saturday we spent our day listening to some Christmas music as we set up our tree(may I add that Israel set it up!). It was such a fun day and Nolan just can't get enough the bright lights on the tree...he sits in front of it and talks like crazy. On Sunday we all hooped in the car and blared some more Christmas tunes and headed off to Toys R Us. We told Israel that we were just heading over there to pick out the toys we were interested in and we would give the list to Santa and he will bring the toys on Christmas day if he is a good boy. So once we had all of the toys Issy was interested in the boys and me continued walking around while Edgar took the cart to Santa's office(a.k.a. the check out counter). We made it home without him even knowing. We are some slick parents.

So our daily activities have been inside the house due to the COLD COLD weather we get to endure for months! Israel enjoys playing on the computer, board games, playing Iron man, baby iron man and the hulk with his dad and baby brother and also harassing his little brother(if he only knew that Nolan will be returning that favor pretty soon). Halloween Recap

So our Halloween did not get off to a good start. We arrived at the church where the Trunk-or-Treat was taking place and it was jammed packed with people and even as we were walking up to stand in the huge line to even get in we heard people saying they had already started running out of candy a half hour into the madness! Right off the back Israel had a stinky attitude saying "Papi I don't want this, I don't want this!" So we turned right back around and headed to Zeeland to Trick or Treat in town and the fun just took off from there!! Israel avoided the scary houses but he did walk up to one spooky house with the help of his dad! I was so proud but then after that we were walking up to another house and a little kid just popped out and scared Issy and Edgar. It was funny but here we are telling Issy there's nothing to be afraid of and then someone scares him! It turned out to be a great night and we finished it off with a Pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut!

Well hello everyone. It's been forever but as you all know I have added a new addition to my fabulous family...little Nolan Kayden Ruiz who made his debut on August 12th. So life has been a little crazy but it is starting to feel the same. So I just wanted to leave you with some gorgeous pictures of my little guys! One month

Just one more month and Nolan will make his grand entrance! Unbelievable...I've waited so long and so far it's been just flying but now that I have so little time it seems to be taking f-o-r-v-e-r. I keep trying to imagine what it's going to be like having a child who is completely dependant on me again. Israel is 5 and can do a lot on his own and enjoys being independent. It will be like starting completely over again. Just 31 days and I will be the proud mother of 2 beautiful boys. I am becoming impatient...

Pooped out

My Aunt Marcy picked Israel up on Sunday night for him to spend the night and Monday with her until I got out of work at 6 p.m. When I picked up Israel on Monday he was completely pooped out. He came home and Edgar put him down in his bed and by time I made it to his room about 10 minutes later to give him a kiss good night he was passed out cold! Usually takes him about 50 times of getting up saying he wants a kiss, a hug, something to drink, has to go to the bathroom and so on until he finally actually goes to bed. Yesterday Edgar set up Nolans crib! It took forever...about 3 hours. The biggest pain in the butt, but it was well worth it once it was all set. Israel has been in love with climbing in it and laying on the boppy pillow. Times ticking down and I am getting more impatient day after day!

After going through my nightly routines to get Israel in bed and finally getting a chance to sit and relax I had time to think about that in 7 short weeks I will be a proud mom to 2 amazing little boys. I couldn't help but think of when they grow up how I would want them to be, what paths they take, the type of people they become. I can only hope that they will always have BIG dreams and never settle for anything less than what they truly want, that they are caring people who give more than they take, that they never feel like doors are closing but see life as when one door closes another door opens a different path. When they have a choice to make that they always choose the right one and not the popular one, always be forgiving even when it seems impossible, never regret anything but simply learn from a mistake and become a better person. I pray that life is all that they want it to be and more and that they are strong minded but still have a warm heart. They truly are my everything’s...the reason I get up every morning and thank god for another beautiful day.

So we celebrated Israel's 5th Birthday on June 14th 2008 at....CHUCK E CHEESE!!! Israel had an absolute blast. Never have I seen his cheeks so red and his head so sweaty. It's amazing to think not to long ago he was a tiny little baby and now he's this amazing little man who has his own opinion(and not afraid to share it with you). He really is a cool kid to be around and I am blessed to have him in my life each and everyday! I can't wait to see him in a new role as a big brother. Times getting very close...7 weeks and counting down. Who knows maybe sooner if Nolan isn't stubborn. Until next time people...I will leave you with some pictures of the fun day.

I can not believe that the boys are going to be 2 in August! Time has gone so fast...I remember racing to pick up Junior and all of us just trying to get to Spectrum hospital before the boys decided to make their grand entrance. I will never forget when I was just sitting in the waiting room with Edgar and Marisa and out came Junior telling me to come into the delivery room. Really a moment that will be with me forever. Yesterday we spent some time with the boys. We took them to the park but there were a lot of people there and it was just to hard trying to keep track of Issy, Erik and Andres! So instead we decided to go home and just play in our backyard. After about an hour of just madness outside everyone came in and we made our own ice cream sundaes. YUMMO!!! It was a great finish to an awesome day.

It's funny how your emotions can sometimes work. Edgar and I have been together a little over 7 years now and on Tuesday May 27, 2008 we got married and I found myself just terrified and nervous while we were waiting. I didn't think it would feel like such a big deal to me because we have been together for so long, we have our 2 boys (make that 3 counting Chico) and our house...we pretty much were married but to make if official was a different story and I just couldn't stop those butterflies from fluttering! We got engaged April 2006 and could never really decide what we wanted to do. We are pretty shy and mellow people so a big wedding would not be us at all and probably would be very uncomfortable for us. So we just decided the best way is for it to be just us two and so we did it just that way! My mom, dad and Issy were there to witness me marrying my best friend. Edgar has always been there as my shoulder to cry on, my buddy just to sit back and laugh with, the person I blow off some steam with and like I said my best friend. He has just always loved me for me...I know he loved me even when I found it difficult to love myself. I couldn't ask for anyone better to share the rest of my life with and I am thankful for every minute that god gives us together as a family. To my best friend...my husband I love you!!!

A Proud day

Today was such a special day! Israel graduated for Zeeland Preschool at 6:30PM and it was one of my proudest moments!! As the kids lined up in the lunch room with their class the parents were treated with an adorable slide show of the school year. The kids then walked into the gym and sang us some songs and did some poems. After that they handed out diplomas and we were treated with cookies!!! We made Issy an Ice cream cake and his two little cousins, grandpa, and aunt and uncle come over to eat yummy cake!!! Here are some of the great pictures from today!! Sorry if they are a little blurry...the gym was very dark and those were the best the camera could do! Enjoy...

A day at Craig's Cruisers

This afternoon we had a family day at Craig's Cruiser. The day started off so beautiful, not to hot, not to cold but just right. We gave Israel the choice of going to the zoo for the day or going to Craig's Cruisers and all he wanted to do was go miniature golfing...so we did! Edgar and Israel did most of the activities and I took the pictures of the fun. We started off playing the miniature golf and Israel was just rocking at it! He got some hole in ones. Edgar on the other hand is no Tiger Woods. After we did our 18 holes Issy went to ride the goat carts and then we took a break and had some pizza and French fries! Delicious!!! After the tummies were full we finished the day off with some arcade games. Overall we all had a good day together. We always want to make time to have a family day.

Beautiful Weekend

On Saturday we spent our time down town Holland at the Tulip Time Parade. I can honestly say I have NEVER seen the tulips as bloomed as they were that day!!! BEAUTIFUL! It was the perfect weather to just hang out and eat some food (trust me I reaped the consequences the next day for eating such salty foods my feet swelled like balloons the next day). I also got some good pictures of Israel and my mom so we could do a little project for mothers day. After all the fun was over we headed home to begin making a picture frame that said I LOVE YOU(that was Issy's gift to his grandmas) and I put together pictures from the day for my mom. The following morning we woke up extra early to sneak over to my mothers house to surprise her with breakfast but someone is not a very good sneaky person...ISSY. He was so loud my mom woke up in the middle of us cooking. It worked out good and we all had a Delicious breakfast together. Overall it was a very busy but enjoyable weekend. Trike-A-Thon

So I am finally getting around to blogging again! I figured out how to upload pictures on to our computer. On Saturday April 26th Israels whole Preschool had a trike-a-thon! It was very cute but extremely cold!!! The poor kids were literally blowing over. The idea of this activities was to raise money for the kids in a healthy way. Verses them selling cookies, candies and other yummy foods they had the kids get some exercise and boy did they enjoy it. The kids had to ride their bikes to little stations that were set up and they had to complete a task to win a prize and continue on the course(they would have to walk on a balance beem and bean bag toss ect). Lets see...much more has been going on since my last blog. In two weeks I will be in my 3rd trimester!! Rock on...we pretty much got everything set for the little guy and I can't wait! We are naming him Nolan Kayden Ruiz and he should be here around August, yeah that's right my last trimester is going to be June, July and August...just perfect for a person who is constantly hot. Well all is well and I am very thankful for everything that has happened in this short period of time and now I will leave you with some pictures of Issy's Trike-A-Thon. This week has been a crazy week let me tell you. Knowing there is a 4 day weekend so close makes my days at work seem like forever. Issy has been...well Issy. We have been trying to keep him entertained now that there's snow everywhere but nothing is more fun to him then a nice day playing in the snow. His snowsuit is so BIG that he can't move but he looks so darn cute in it.

Wow so saturday Issy was in a pumpkin fest parade and it was way to hot to function! My poor baby was sweating his butt off. It's hard to believe it was October 6th and it was great weather for shorts and a tank top. The theme for the kids were Zeeland's Preschool stars and it was just adorable. Issy had a great time petting the animals at the petting zoo. Here are some cute pictures from our fun day!!!

Rough days

Days like today I wish there was a HOW TO BE A PARENT MANUAL! Issy had a very rough day at school. It broke my heart to see him walk over to me with his head down while his teacher held his hand. I felt kind of helpless in a way because I had looked forward to seeing him all day and the 1st time I saw him all day I have to punish him. On the way home I asked him to talk to me and tell me what was going on but he refused to even look up, he just starred at the floor the whole entire time. Once we got home I had to come up with a way that would teach him a lesson but yet disipline him. I use to think having a little baby was the hardest thing but now I am realizing yeah a preschooler can dress himself, he can feed himself and sometimes entertain himself BUT HE TALKS BACK! Just to think I have many many years of that fun....

Israel is offically a Preschooler! It's been a crazy week. It's a weird feeling I have about him going to school...happy but yet very sad. I know in the end it will be for the best for him, he finally has some kids to play with besides his dad. All of his teachers loved him and said he did great. I have to admit even though I am sad he is not my little baby anymore....there is no better feeling then picking him up from school and he runs over to you with a big smile. If you ask Issy what he did in school today he will give you the same answer everytime, "I played toys and sat down!" Preschool is just a great time and I am glad my job gives me the opportunity to be a part of my sons new adventure.

Let's see I have never really blogged before so I don't really know how to begin with out starting to just ramble. It's crazy to believe that my sister and ryan actually moved. I feel like I knew that they were moving for such a long time and I ignored that it but now everyone is over there moving her in and here I sit faced with the realty that my sister and ryan are no longer around the corner, they aren't even in the same state. It's a bitter sweat feeling! I know they will do great out there and at least now we have a vacation spot :). Issy has yet to realize what is going on and I'm not really sure when he will. He loves his sessa and ryan. Well the more I type the more my eyes water so I am going to stop while I am ahead. I LOVE YOU VANESSA AND RYAN AND I WILL SEE YOU SOON!
